| Aucourant is proud to be the publisher of two very important
CDs of electronic music by well known American composer
Roger Hannay. A senior member of the community of avant-garde
composers, Hannay has been the recipient of numerous distinctions
and awards. The first of these two discs, ARCHITECTURE
IN SOUND VOLUME ONE, presents seven of his electronic
works composed between 1970 and 1982. Among them are the
virtuoso work Pied Piper for clarinet and tape, the beautiful
Elegy for viola and tape and the impressively complex
tour-de-force Mere Bagatelle for prepared piano 4-hands
and synthesizer. |
| Hannay is an acknowledged pioneer of contemporary
music, and his electronic works are an important and valuable
addition to the available recorded literature of this
important style of music. For this special two-volume
publication the original recordings were very carefully
edited and remastered in high-definition audio, rendering
the music as it has never been heard before. This collection
of fine compositions will appeal to aficionados of electronic
and contemporary music and will be of special interest
to collectors and broadcasters around the world. |
