Fountainhead is the new ambient project by Robert Scott Thompson, composer of The Silent Shore, Frontier and Air Friction CDs among others. Fans of deep ambient, space, classical ambient and dark ambient music will instantly recognize that this new CD is a continuation of Robert's critically acclaimed work featured on previous CDs. The release date for the CD CLOUD COVER is October 9, 1998 and mail order purchases are now being accepted. From the CD - SIREN (AMBIENT) by Robert Scott Thompson (RARITY)
SIREN (AMBIENT) is a full length CD of nearly one hour duration drawn from the ambient installation work SIREN (AMBIENT). This work is in turn a version of the large scale computer music work SIREN which is included on the CD Fog Index (currently unpublished). All of the material for this music is derived from the singing of performer Mary-Jo Bischoff. A very rich ambient context is created which bridges the genres of serious art music and classical ambient music. One of RST's most recent works completed in September of 1998.

SAPPHIRE is a long form ambient work similar to Music for Airports by Brian Eno. One long continuous movement of spare piano ambience creates a floating sonic environment. Perfect "thinking music", this work can be appreciated equally well with rapt attention and casual regard. Lovers of gentle classical ambient music in the style of Eno, Budd, Nelson and the like will enjoy this music.
