The RST Sound Archive

Unique sounds, CDROM archives of rare sampling material - in CDROM format, saved as .wav files. This sonic material is ideal for ambient music composition. These sounds will also be useful for CDROM authoring, multimedia, game creation and the like. Buying these CD archives provides a liscence for unlimited use of the materials in independent projects.

Each disk contains approx. 70 minutes of sound materials created from software synthesis and digital signal processing.

The RST Sound Archive is an aspect of the Computer Music Series (CMS) of Aucourant Records. This is an important contribution to available sonic resources on CDROM. The materials contained in the archive are culled from RST's personal archive of sound materials collected since 1981. 14 years of extensive research into the computer synthesis of sound and coordinated digital signal processing strategies have resulted in a vast array of sound materials which are ablsolutely unique. These materials are being made available to interested parties on CDROM in .wav format for independent and individual use.

Unlike sound effects CDs, these sounds have immediate musical applicability to composition in a wide variety of ways. Perhaps they are best suited to ambient, dark ambient, techno, electronic and related expressions. These materials would also be useful in film and video creation, CDROM authoring, game design and in any use where sonic mood creation is crucial to project development.

Look for examples from these archives to be placed here in the near future.
