Parasympathetic Music (2013) — Robert Scott Thompson — Long-form Ambient Music

Parasympathetic Music (2013) is a long-form ambient work that was composed with the goal of creating a music that evokes parasympathetic activation; lowered heart-rates, slower and deeper breathing, and meditative states of mind.

Similar to other long from works by Robert Scott Thompson, such as Centering, Enfolding, Empowering (2013), Sapphire (1999) and Music for a Summer Evening (1998), Parasympathetic Music is ideal “thinking music” for concentration, relaxation and reverie.

Ambient [noun] – A musical genre that focuses largely on the timbral characteristics of sounds, often organized or performed to evoke an atmospheric, visual or unobtrusive quality.
